The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) hosted its 8th annual Educational Achievement Awards Ceremony, in recognition of 115youngsters in State care, who were successful in four or more CSEC and CAPE subjects.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Honourable Robert Nesta Morgan delivered remarks on behalf of the Ministry.
CPFSA’s CEO, Rosalee Gage Grey said that the Ceremony is in keeping with the Agency’s thrust to highlight the successes of children in State care, which serves as a means of encouragement for them to continue excelling in their academic endeavours.
Forty six tablets were presented to awardees from the agency’s four regions to assist the wards with furthering their studies. These tablets were donated by the Transformation Implementation Unit (TIU). This forms part of the Agency’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) expansion project, enabling youngsters to have access to online learning platforms.
