World Suicide Prevention Day

Hi Colleagues,

As we join the rest of the world in recognizing World Suicide Prevention Day (WSP) being observed under the theme “Working together to prevent suicide.

As we help to build awareness about suicide and suicide prevention, each of us should KNOW THE SIGNSso that we can seek help for our friends and family members.

Below is a list of warning signs:

  • Talking about death or suicide
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Saying that they are a burden
  • Withdrawing from friends and family
  • Losing interest in activities
  • Extreme mood swings
  • Giving away possessions
  • Saying goodbye to family and friends

 

Let us work together to prevent SUICIDE.

Extended Closure Notice

The Corporate Office of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA),located at 48 Duke Street, Kingston will remain closed for the remainder of this week. Our office reopens on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 8:30 a.m.

The decision to further extend the closure was made to facilitate the completion of extensive deep cleaning and sanitization of the building, following a staff member’s COVID-19 positive test result.
