On the 28^th of November weAgency hosted the 2019 Educational Achievement AwardsCeremony at the Terra Nova Hotel.The annual event to recognize children in care who have passed four or more subjects in the May/June sittings of CXC CSEC and CAPE Level 2 Examinations. This year 79 children were awarded, with receiving a plaque and other gifts for their outstanding academic performance.

In observance of World Children’s Day on November 20, 2019 the Agency hosted a stakeholder meeting entitled ‘Situation of Jamaica’s Children 30 Years after Convention on the Rights of the Child’. The event was aimed towards meeting stakeholders across various industries to look at Jamaica’s development and future plans in developing and safeguarding the nation’s children. Industries represented included foundations, government ministries, NGOs and Churches.

On November 20, 2019 the United Nations adopted the Convention of the Rights of the Child.

2019 marks the 30^th anniversary of UNCRC and 28 years since Jamaica ratified the Convention.
